  • I see in your videos, seems people neglect required general upkeep maintenance and then install wrong parts. That happens here in the USA also. People who think they know how to work on a car, but shouldn't touch it. Lack of choice of vocational courses in school I would say. There is secondary education, technical colleges, but by 18 years old, some have made up mind on career and its not being a mechanic. Most of the high mileage older BMW and Mercedes here in USA get sold off to secondary car dealers here. The secondary dealers, still command high prices, do little to no required repairs because of trying to turn a profit. Cars get sold, owners do patchwork repairs, anything major breaks, they sell car or let it get repossessed, then lender sells or junks car. It is a sad process and a lot of cars that can be put back on road end up as junk.

  • Hello, I love your vids. Since you know much about m70 engines, is it true that ecu programs are made for 91 octane fuel only in the early E32 BMW? Did you hear about a wokke performance chip, sorting this issue (ecu remapping) and also WOT issue? (throttle body not fully open under 3.5 revs). Thanks for the reply.

Valve, Coolant change and P/S Belt adjust $400US. I drive 60 miles CEL"P0505" (Idle Air Control Valve). I explain to my GF that mechanics are often sloppy or rush. I got out there and did the RELEARN PROCEDURE and now it's idling normally. //Shrugs

He could of so edited his way through that, I am and have been looking for a E38 M62b44 for sometime and well would love an M73 but they are hard to find now in the U.S or when they are, they are Way Overpriced or Completely Neglected. • You are the European version of Vice Grip Garage - and equally as competent and entertaining. I've always wanted an older, manual BMW but the prices for them - and the commensurate parts - are usually stratospheric. I had to make do with a 2007 Cadillac CTS-V, as it was nearly half the price of a 2006 M5 and I can fix it with a hammer...

  • NBR/NBR means the rubber material. Like O-Rings these hoses do have special properties to resist f.e. UV light/ mineral oils and so on. So you were fully right. The outside material was from chlorepren rubber (CR) and the inner should have been NBR - Nitrile Butadiene Rubber. Hope that helps. Always be careful wat types of rubber you use for which type of place and chemicals they are exposed. Cheers mate. Excellent work. :)

  • Oh dear! Glad you survived sucking from the fuel tank with the vacuum cleaner. The fuel vapors easily ignite in the vacuum motor. I'm working in a German refinery and some 30 years back, a worker died in an accident because of that. Tank and vacuum machine was easily 1000 times bigger though... However, I really enjoy watching your channel. (To be honest, it was excessive binge watching as they call it in Germany in the last 3 days) Hope you'll be able to quit your "shitty" job some day and survive on BGworld.

  • Hmmm... Hey, no, dude, it's a bonus if the previous owner has just spent thousands but not managed to have it repaired: that means it's an opportunity to get a potentially good car cheaper. That is the only good thing about idiot independent incompetent mechanics. Who says I'm not always positive and patient of my ignorant neighbours?

    Rami StillRamiRami StillRamiпреди 2 месеца
  • BMWs are actually really reliable & rust resistant... The ridiculously expensive independent incompetent idiot mechanics give them a bad rep because it's typical to spend thousands of pounds without getting a repair. BMW franchise dealers may be more expensive but they offer pretty women. Seriously, any competent DIY er can have a cool reliable old BMW without the expense.
