In this episode of throwing money at my daily, guest upholsterer shows you how to repair leather seats, restitching the broken seam and fixing damaged bolster. I then set about tearing down the interior for the two-tone conversion and retrofit wiring for the power seats. Also, I hit my melon 4 times in this one.

  • Buys full front & rear seats for 200, then gets ripped of 180 for barely half a seat repair lol. Saying ripped off as you can buy new cushion for way less than a 100 and sewing 1 stripe in the middle is no more than 20 quid given dismantled seat already. maybe its different in DE

    Antanas RapkeviciusAntanas Rapkeviciusпреди месец
    • You are wrong. That is a very fair price in Germany for good work. You will never find anyone here that will do that stripe for 20 quid. Cushion is around 100, but why would I give that money to BMW when I can support a small local business and still have it repaired properly.

  • You are now officially my worst influencer!!,😅😅 And I mean that in a good way!!! Now I can’t just fit one thing...I need this...then oh it would be great with...started with brake pads replacement...then oh while we are there we might as well replace the brake discs... they are slightly edged....and since we are replacing those we might as well go for the crossed drilled ones cause they look better....what how did I end up spending that much on pads and discs?😱🙈 Nah... just doing the pads for now!!! 🤣🤣Great video enjoyed every bit of the aside am sure the results are well worth every penny spent and loved that you reached out to the subscriber with the seat repair shop, he was worth the drive and inclusion in the video...he didn’t disappoint at all!!👍🏽👏🏽👏🏽

  • lol OMG I feel your pain with having to cut the carpets!!! I had to do the exact same thing on my E30 325i! What a NIGHTMARE trying to figure out, and psych myself into doing it, that cutting it is the ONLY way I was going to get the carpet out of my car to re-dye it from gray to black. Not to mention, it sat for 3 years under an oak tree at my place of employment and an ENTIRE colony of carpenter ants decided to make their home under the carpet inside of the car.... I'm watching each of your videos, IN THEIR ENTIRETY, in order and by project. lol I'm 3 cars in now and can't wait to watch the rest. Amazing work sir. SIDE NOTE: Is there any chance you could source and restore an e30 Sedan? ;) Specifically the front strut assembly and possible causes for clunking from the strut-mounts after reinstalling everything?

  • I notice you use flux when soldering wires together, I would worry the acid that is often in it over time corrodes the copper/solder. Better use lead/tin with resin kernel for better flow and avoid the acid stuff.

I specifically am looking for one with no options, Carbon Roof, manual transmission, cloth manual seats, no Nav or anything.

    Fluffy1oO1OwlFluffy1oO1Owlпреди 3 месеца

  • That amount of foam on the carpet is very BMW and lovely for insulation. Until you have a water leak, in your Rover 75 (which is a very BMW car under the badge) and they decide not to make it a 2 piece design 🤦‍♂️ once waterlogged its so insanely heavy and awkward to remove
